MMLL - U11 - U17

U11-U17 Hurricanes teams play in the Metro Minor Lacrosse League (MMLL). All teams play a 14 game regular season and playoff games. We accept new players at all age divisions; many of our U11 and U13 players are new to the sport. Every year there are first year players on our U15 and U17 teams! Coaches focus on both fundamental skill development, team strategies, and fun.

Teams have weekly practices and play 1-2 games/week. Practices and home games are at Spryfield Arena. Away games will be in arenas throughout HRM (Cole Harbour Place, Greenfoot Energy Center, the Sackville Arena or the Eastern Shore Community Center)

U11 - 2016 and 2017

U13 - 2014 and 2015

U15 - 2012 and 2013

U17 - 2010 and 2011

Co-Ed Divisions: U13/15/17 may have both "A" and "B" divisions if we have enough players to form two teams. In the event this happens, there will be ID camps (tryouts) in mid April in order to fill both "A" and "B" rosters. Tryout dates are TBD as of January 2026

All Girls Divisions: U11-U17 will have all female teams playing in all female divisions

Boundaries:

Lacrosse registration is based on where you live. Players must register with the minor club based on the area they reside as of April 1 of the playing season.

To ensure you are registering in your catchment area, use the MMLL's Where do I play? page to look up your address in the searchable boundary map. There is contact information for all clubs on this page as well.

As per MMLL bylaws, players must show proof of residency during the registration process using:

  • Property tax bill where primary residency grant has been claimed
  • Power bill
  • Phone bill
  • If none of the above documents can be provided because the parent/guardian rents and does not pay own utilities, then the following shall apply
    • A letter from the Landlord verifying rental agreement

Equipment:

If you're looking for lacrosse gear, you have a few options. Big box stores like Cleve's, SportChek and Pro Hockey Life have limited selection but you will find gear there. If you're looking for more expertise and selection, we recommend SportWheels for your equipment. If you're looking to have your head restrung, we recommend the McDonald brothers at Eleget.

Check out our player equipment page for more information.

Goalie Equipment:

We are always looking to recruit and develop new goaltenders. Goalie equipment is provided by the association. Please reach out to hfx.hurricanes.lacrosse@gmail.com to get set up. All goalie gear must be returned in good condition at the end of the season.

Communication:

Registered players will receive initial communication regarding tryouts, team balancing, and schedules via email from the club. Once teams are set, rosters will be available on the Team Ramp app, where managers and coaches will communicate with families.
